Memorabilia 2006

The UKCM landed in Birmingham on the 25/26th November for the winter Memorabilia. My Alien and several Marines caused a minor sensation. It was even more of a photo-frenzy than the FACTS trip and I think a good time was had by all.

The Alien also discovered that he LOVES to scare children. I am not ashamed to say that he quite enjoyed it. Many kids were traumatised that weekend.

Children in Need 2006

The Alien took part in fund-raising for Children in Need by collecting cash outside Debenhams on Argyle Street in Glasgow. The collection was organised by the Legion of Superheroes and I was joined by Marines from the UKCM. Our group consisted of an Alien, two Marines, Batman, Lara Croft, Supergirl and a Cyberman.

Fraz, Abe and Scapegoat

Great fun was had by all and the Alien got an insane amount of attention from the Glasgow public. Most people loved him, some were terrified! We raised £670.

On the appeal night, we took our takings to the BBC Studios in Glasgow. We sat a table at the front and were interviewed by Jackie Bird at the end of the Scottish section of the programme.

Halloween 2006

On the Saturday before Halloween, the Alien and Reverend Scapegoat (above, right) went to the Cathouse night-club in Glasgow. I had the night of my life. Between the two of us, we won the costume competition (£250 prize). Dancing in the costume was surprisingly easy. I managed to keep the head on for 90% of the time.

On Halloween night, we went to the Glasgow University Student Union. There were a few too many drunken prats for my liking and we were barred from the costume competition because it wouldn't be fair because our costumes were too good.

FACTS 2006

On the weekend of 14th October 2006, the Alien went on a UKCM trip to Ghent in Belgium for the "FACTS" convention. Another UKCM Alien and I stole the show. We got a huge amount of attention. We had thousands of photos taken of use and we met loads of celebrities, including Lance Henrikson, Michael Ironside, Anthony Daniels and cast-members from "'Allo 'Allo!".

On the ferry home, my Alien escaped! He stalked around the decks and was invited up onto the bridge!

More pictures and a 12 minute video from this event can be found in the UKCM gallery.

Somerset House Aliens Screening

There was a outdoor showing of "Aliens" and "Starship Troopers" at Somerset House in London. The Alien and a couple of Marines attended in costume. We got an incredible reception: when we arrived in the courtyard there was a huge cheer and applause! On route to Somerset House, we stopped at Buckingham Palace to pose for some photos. Of course, we were mobbed by tourists wanting to pose with us!
