Long time no post

I’ve been neglecting this page for a long time (and neglecting Abe too …) – too much real life. We’ve been doing loads of appearances though, but the costume now desperately needs some work.

I’m trying to get Abe into a decent state for Dragon*Con at the start of September. He needs new hands, new feet and serious work is needed to the ribs and body suit.

London MCM Expo – Oct 2009

Abe and the rest of the UKCM attended London MCM Expo at the ExCeL centre in London Docklands on 24th/25th October.

This event is predominantly animé/gaming focused, but is always busy and great fun. It is one of the few shows where the majority of attendees are in costume.

This was Abe’s first time out with a prototype of an automatic drool system. This delightful bit of kit meant that Abe could bless people with his lovely slime whenever it was required. Unfortunately, 500ml of drool is not enough – he runs out in about 10 minutes! Amazingly, no-one seriously objected to having slime on their head/clothes – it is non-staining, but they didn’t know that – but of course, it caused much cringing and screaming!

I need to work on the drool system to make it hold more, and to make it more comfortable.

New Website!

I have finally got around to revamping the website! It has been ages since I last did an update to the old site and I have never finished the Alien Costume Construction Tutorials.

I have rebuilt the website using WordPress, so I hope that it will be easier to maintain and that this will encourage me to update more often. Hopefully, I’ll make regular blog posts to let you all know what Abe T. Alien is up to!

For the time being, I have moved over the content from the old site. I will expand and correct this shortly.

Big thanks to Paul Maitland (for help and advice) and GilesG Photography (for the awesome bg image).

Best regards and HSSSSSSSssssssssssssss,

Gareth / Abe T. Alien
